Februarys ‘Plant of the month’ in our tree and topiary collection is the Salix caprea ‘Pendula’, also known as the Kilmarnock Willow.

This deciduous tree grows in an umbrella-like fashion and has started to sport its small, silver catkins. Once the yellow anthers open, they will be followed by silver-green leaves. It is a very damp-tolerant tree that can be grown in coastal sites.
